I am Legend

Posted Jun 13, 2007

Robert Neville (Will Smith) is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable...and manmade. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City...and maybe the world. But he is not alone. He is surrounded by "the Infected"--victims of the plague who have mutated into carnivorous beings who can only exist in the dark and who will devour or infect anyone or anything in their path.

Yeah... that never occurred to me. But this movie does remind me of 28 days later...

Look for a movie called "The Omega Man" from 1971. You need to get your facts straight before tossing around insults.

You nailed it with "The Omega Man". That was the movie I immediately thought of as well when I saw the trailer. For those mentally challenged (who are so original in choice of words and slamming Americans), *28 Days Later" is just another knock off zombie flick!

"I Am Legend" was an American novel written in 1954 by Richard Matheson. It has been adapted to film three times already: "The Last Man on Earth" (1964), "The Omega Man" (1971), and the straight-to-video "I Am Omega" (2007). All of these are American films. I like "28 Days/Weeks Later" too, but if anyone's ripping anyone off, it's Danny Boyle the Brit.

BTW: movie zombies as we know them were created by George Romero, another American.
